Suddenly it’s got cold in Houston. Not as cold as England (shivering in below freezing temperatures) but 2c is a pretty big shock for Houstonians. And us! Don’t worry, it’s only for a couple of days and then the temperature will be back up to pretty warm again (20c).
Our Elf has definitely felt the change in temperature though. This is how we found him this morning:
The girls have decided that they’ll have the socks once the Elf is feeling warmer. You’d think coming from the North Pole that he’d be a bit hardier but it seems that 2 weeks in Houston has turned him a bit soft! Not as soft as the socks though, which have polar bear faces on them, sticky bottoms so the girls don’t slip over when they get to wear them and are very, very soft.
I’m quite envious! I could do with some cosy socks. In fact, any socks would do. Can’t remember the last time I had to wear any…
The girls have decided that the polar bear on the socks is the North Polar Bear in the Letters from Father Christmas (a book of magical letters that father Christmas sent the children of JRR Tolkien – it’s a lovely Christmas read and very funny too, particularly the parts when Father Christmas explains why he hasn’t been able to bring all the presents the children asked for!)
